Basic rules
- Blue Cho moves first. Red Han receives 1.5 points when two passes trigger material scoring.
- Play on 9x10 intersections without a river. Generals start in palace centres. Choose one of four horse-and-elephant formations; in online rooms Han confirms first, then Cho.
- Palace diagonals extend some moves. Cannons need a non-cannon screen and cannot capture another cannon.
- Checkmate wins. In this app's casual profile, leaving a bikjang challenge unanswered draws; two passes compare material points.

- Higher material score after consecutive passes or a threefold repetition
- Opponent gives perpetual check through a threefold repetition
