Basic rules

Play Shogi on a 5x5 board with king, gold, silver, bishop, rook, and pawn per side.
Captured pieces become pieces in hand and can be dropped back unpromoted.
The promotion zone is only the farthest rank from each player.
Checkmate or leaving the opponent without a legal move wins; illegal pawn drops and self-check restrictions still apply.
