Basic rules
- Captured pieces become pieces in hand.
- Drops are legal except illegal pawn drops, non-moving drops, and pawn-drop mate.
- Promotion applies in the promotion zone.
- Checkmate or leaving the opponent without a legal move wins; passing is not allowed.
How it ends
- Checkmate
- Opponent has no legal move
- Illegal move in strict competitive mode
- Resignation
- Timeout
