Basic rules
- Each player has a standard set of pieces with no pawns.
- Pieces move as in chess, but giving check is illegal.
- The first king to reach the eighth rank wins.
- If White reaches first, Black may immediately reach the eighth rank to draw.
How it ends
- King reaches the eighth rank first
- White reaches and Black fails to answer on the next move
