English Draughts
Draughts and checkers · 8x8 square grid
Basic rules
- Men move one square diagonally forward on the dark squares.
- Captures are compulsory, but any capture may be chosen, not only the longest; a jumping piece must continue while more jumps are available.
- Men become kings on the far row, and a jump that reaches it ends the move; kings move and jump one square diagonally in any direction.
- Win by capturing all opposing checkers or leaving the opponent with no legal move.
How it ends
- Capture all opposing checkers
- Block every opposing legal move
