Chess960

Basic rules
  1. Each new game starts from one of the 960 legal back ranks; Black mirrors White.
  2. Bishops start on opposite colors and the king starts between the rooks.
  3. Castling puts the king on the g- or c-file and the rook on the f- or d-file; both may already stand there, the squares they cross must be empty, and the king may not start in, pass through, or land in check.
  4. Checkmate, draw, and promotion rules match classic chess, including promotion to a rook, bishop, or knight.
